What type of retirement plan is Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)?

Hello,

I am trying to find under what category HOOPP falls under in order to file my taxes, and if it would count as RRSP contribution.  

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

HOOPP would usually be retirement income. If there is income from HOOPP it should be reported on a T4A slip. It would not generally relate to an RRSP contribution. Check with HOOPP to see if they will issue a T4A.

Is HOOPP a PRPP or an RPP? I pay a portion and my employer pays a portion. I am not yet retired.

HOOPP should show in your T4 exactly like your RPP. your contribution will be in Box 20 and yours and your employer combines in Box 52. So there is nothing more than your T4 to report.
