Rental income for sahm

Hi I am a stay at home mom and we are considering getting a short term (daily) rental property this year. I will not be on title and will be doing most of the work (advertising, managing, repairs, cleaning, etc). He is in the highest tax bracket, is it beneficial for him to pay me a wage to offset his rental income or does the tax man just end up collecting more in the end that way anyhow with cpp, ei etc. Trying to figure out if this is best done as a company for him or a personal rental. And if we should be paying me a wage or not. There is so much conflicting information. Thanks so much for any replies!

This is probably something you would want to discuss with an accountant. You would need to look at your overall financial situation, and maybe look at different scenarios to see which works best. There are also other things to consider, such as you may not need to make contributions to Employment Insurance if your husband pays you a salary or wage.
