Spouse with zero income

Hi, I'm employed with a regular salary,  my wife has zero income.

I put zero in her income but I see "claim $12,069" in her basic personal amount. Why is that?

Should be zero.

Thanks

The basic personal amount (BPA) is a non-refundable tax credit that can be claimed by all individuals. However, since it’s non-refundable, it won’t affect your tax return if you have no income.
