For anyone else that has this issue, mine was due to the fact that I did not use easystep and just went straight to the forms method of completion. Even though I had completed the T1135 form, because the easystep question related having foreign investments was not answered, the software does not prompt for filing a T1135 return. Once I went back and completed the easystep questions and said I have foreign investments over $100K, the software then prompted me to netfile the T1135 return. It's a glitch that needs fixing.
I did not get an option to netfile the T1135 after filing my T1 return. I am not sure how to process the filing for my T1135. Is there a helpline available?
Are you using TurboTax CD/Download or TurboTax Online? You should see the option to file your T1135 on the same page where you can NETFILE your return.
If you would like to contact our phone support team, you can call them at 1-888-829-8608.
I am using the downloaded version of TurboTax Standard 2023. I did not get an option to file my T1135 at the time of netfiling my T1 return. I will call the helpline to try and resolve.

Hi
I'm in the same position as you: Turbotax Standard, using Forms view to enter information, just like I have done for the last 10 years. But this year TT is not allowing me to file the T1135.
I tried going into EasyStep, but I didn't see what to enter where to fix this problem. Any help appreciated.
Found it thanks. Getting pretty annoyed with Intuit about these issues making it more and more difficult to complete and file a return using forms only....
@grahamT Thank you for the update, and we appreciate your feedback.
The netfile page had two buttons: (Netfile tax return) and (Netfile T1135). I had filled out the info for T1135 and saw that it was included in the preview pdf of my return.
When I pressed the (Netfile tax return) button, it worked, but then it didn't return me to that netfile page so I don't have a chance to press (Netfile T1135).
Is my T1135 already netfiled automatically by Turbotax Online then? Confused as to netfile status.
@ehawthorne No, the T1135 is sent separately from your T1 tax return, so you'll need to go back through the filing section and click on the T1135 button to send it.
Yeah I eventually figured that out.
But it is completely nonintuitive and will predictably lead to many missed filings.
UI should continue back to netfile page after you see the netfile confirmation page, if there is a second return component that you must separately netfile.
This is a user experience (UX) bug. You should report it to the technology team.
