Unable to submit 2024 tax return

Please help, i keep getting this message

"You can't proceed further because one or more of your tax forms is currently unavailable. Please check back later."

This is very frustrating- I have been trying this for over 5 days now without success. More annoying is that there is little or no information about this.

UPDATE: All forms for 2024 are unlocked.

If you are using TurboTax Desktop, please update your software. (Help>Update)

If you are using TurboTax Online, you may need to clear your cache and cookies to see the changes, or you can try using another browser.

I am using NO forms that are listed as locked and still unable to file. Have closed all listed locked forms even thou all were zero and still getting message regarding forms required are not yet ready. March 8th...this is ridiculous. After 20 plus years..no more turbotax for me. I use home and business.

@carr64 Please verify that none of the forms you are using are locked: TurboTax FAQ: Why does TurboTax say my forms are locked or haven't been finalized?  Try clearing the unneeded form and then closing unused forms. You can find those options under Edit>Forms in the top menu. we also suggest to make sure that TurboTax is up- to date to the current version before attempt to Netfile.

I have tried all those things, believe it has something to do with a T5 issued for interest income..it seems to generate a capital gains form which is not needed. Have tried clearing and deleting the form but no success on netfile. TT is updated. Check multiple times a day, hoping for update to resolve issues.

If you sell the investment before maturity at a profit (or loss), part may be taxed as a capital gain (or allowed as a capital loss), while the rest is considered interest income. As a bond investor, however, you also need to be aware that if you're not careful, you could be paying tax twice on your interest income. That could be a reason. You do need to wait until Schedule 3 gets finalized by CRA to Netfile.

It is a T5 issued annually from Desjardins bank...it has zero to do with capital gains..it is Qc taxes and this is not the only problem with the TT program this year.

I am in the same boat, next year I will not be purchasing TurboTax as this year they are the only tax filing software to artificially block it's users because how slow they are in updating their forms, all other companies have implemented the CRA forms by March 1st.

Is there any ETA of when forms will be Finalized and Unlocked so that I can file my return? Last update was 6 days ago.

@SmVan161 These forms are still locked by CRA & RQ and not finalized by yet. Please refer to this link Why does TurboTax say my forms are locked or haven't been finalized?

We do not have any ETA on this yet but as soon a these forms gets finalize we will be updating them in TurboTax.

We appreciate your patience.

For Qc if you go to forms, select TP-726-6 ..remove info and close form you can netfile. This form is not necessary for most filers.

The warning said early March these forms would be available. Today is Mar 12th and I still can't file some of the returns I've completed. I've been with Turbo Tax from their start, but each year the product and service is getting worse and I'm struggling to justify why I should continue to use Turbo Tax when its turbo charger is not working. This is a frustration and a stress for someone like me who completes and files the returns of many of my friends and family members. These folks depend on getting their refunds back in these financially challenging times and Turbo Tax's tardiness just adds to that stress and is not an acceptable way to treat customers. Risky business decision ...................

Just had another return e-file rejected because of the Schedule 3 Capital Gains  is not being accepted yet. The filer is a senior with a T5 for Dividend Income issued and doesn't have any Capital Gains info to report.

same here.... I reported rental income, nothing to do with capital gain.....

Turbo tax is still waiting finalization of the forms from CRA and RQ..... it is very slow and revenue should extend the due deadline.

I know several people who file with Ufile and the returns go through...I too have clients with simple T5s from bank interest and everything locks up.
Can you please link the thread where the CRA and MRQ state that their forms aren't finalized yet?

@turbotax Please respond.  Where is the link from the GOVTS that state that the forms haven't been finalized on their end??
If I have no response, I am going to go public with 200 clients.
I've had enough of your DEI hires...

Your tech support is unprofessional, some woman who could barely speak, muffled phone, on speakerphone with kids screaming in the background, her putting me on hold without pressing the mute button and screaming at her kids to settle down.  She couldn't solve my problem, was coughing in my ear, breathing in my ear
This is what your company has become.  This is what Canada has become.
I'm appalled.

Inuit is now owned by a US company, from what I understand. As for the Capital Gains issue at the CRA,  we can thank our on, and then off, gov't plan to change the tax rules around Capital Gains. This I'm guessing is what is causing this delay at the CRA as they got caught in the middle of those proposed tax rule changes that gov't was making but never materialized because the Liberals have shut down Parliament while they change leadership.

Not yet, still wait for government's finalizing the forms.

From what I have read, the government changed the forms , and they are available but some software providers are struggling to keep up to date . Is this true ?

it seems it, because multiple people are saying here they know others who have successfully filed with other technology.
