What is a tax shelter id number? Today is the first time I have seen it and how does it apply to me?

What is a tax shelter ID number? Am I using the wrong form?

A tax shelter is defined as a “gifting arrangement” by the CRA. If you don’t have a Tax Shelter number, or a business, partnership or GST/HST registration number, you don’t need to fill in those spaces.

Hi Susan,

Do I need this number if I am only renting out a house?
