Why is our tax filing being held up because of a Capital Cost Allowance filing? We don't qualify. We do a little extra work that is casual labour, low income.

split income; both 'extra' casual work comes to less than $3,000. We have not claimed any expenses, so we are not treating it like a business.

Did you enter the T4A slip? It could be that you entered that income in Box 048; TurboTax automatically opens up a "Business Statement" (Form T2125). Even though you aren't claiming expenses, the software's "Review" engine sometimes gets stuck thinking you have equipment or vehicles to account for.

Double-check this information:

Did you go into the "Business Assets" or "Vehicle Expenses" sections to see what was there? (Opening those screens can sometimes result in a blank "placeholder" that the software requires you to fill out.)

When you run the final "Review," what exactly is the error message? Is it stating that a form is "incomplete," or is it requesting the disposition of an asset?

Is there an error on the business profile page with a check mark next to "Is this your last year of business?" or "Did you dispose of all assets?" (These boxes are magnets for CCA errors.

Check the Self-Employment section and explicitly select "No" to the question "Did you buy any equipment or assets?" Usually, this makes the error disappear. If that doesn't work, we may need to "delete" and re-add the T2125 to clear the software's memory.

Thank you for choosing.
