If you amended the federal tax return, Form 1040-X, either e-filed or printed and mailed the amended return to the IRS then you check the status of the amended return on this IRS website - https://www.irs.gov/filing/wheres-my-amended-return

The IRS will take 6 months or longer to process an amended tax return.
