Here's what I recommend for your scenario
1. Make sure that you have filed your 2016 tax return successfully (you should have a confirmation number for the same).
2. Contact the CRA and update your address with them for you to get your entitled 2016 refund. Also ask them about your 2016 return if you are in doubt.
