If you choose not to prepare your spouse's return at the same time, you'll need to start a new tax return as you cannot remove the spousal information on a return you've already started. On the new return, choose to prepare the return only for yourself.
It's important though for you to include your spouse's information and income in order to calculate any benefits and credits you are entitled to.
