That depends on the province you lived in on Dec 31, 2016. 

In Ontario, you enter the amount for information purposes only. It will not change your bottom line. It is to apply for the Trillium benefit that you may receive each month.

Manitoba - You enter your property taxes and it will impact the bottom line. 

All other provinces, the property tax does not impact the bottom line.
