My mutual funds were purchased over several years. What year do I enter in the capital gains section?
I understand there are different tax rates for short term capital gains and long term capital gains. I sold mutual funds which I have held for over a year, but were purchased over several years. Which year do I enter in Schedule 3?

Investors and rental owners
There are no different tax rates for short term or long term capital gains in Canada. For the year of acquisition on Schedule 3 for identical mutual funds purchased over several years, you can enter either the first year or the year with the most purchases.
