Can styling tools (brushes, blow dryers, etc) I've purchased for my work as a hair stylist, but not reimbursed by my employer, be claimed as employment expenses?

Self-employed

You could claim a portion of those expenses under other expenses, but if you are an employee and receive  a T4 from your employer, you will need to get a signed T2200 from the employer stating that these expenses are necessary for your employment.
