T2202A can i claim is school was paid for by second careers?

Seniors and students

You will not be able to claim the tuition credits, as they were paid by a third party and not considered a taxable benefit to yourself.  However, you had the best deal, as you didn't have to pay for the tuition...that is a good deal.  However, here is a link that will show you that you have to pay the fees yourself, or they be included as part of your taxable income (taxable benefit) in order for you to claim the credit.  However, if you were in full time education, it is important for you to state that, as being in full time education disqualifies you for the Working Income Tax Benefit.
