 I thought the problem was splitting the income but that was not the case.

there are 2 different schedule 2 forms the federal and the provincial. These were supposed to be marked 0 instead of the full amount allotted  for the deduction. They said I was not eligible for either of these deductions.  So I had to pay the  difference of 1193.00. A portion of this was interest. The gentleman at the Canadian Revenue Agency said it was nothing I personally did wrong. The deductions are part of an algorithm set up in your system and depending on how I answer the questions asked.  In other words the full amount was given to me  (automatically).  This was very frustrating to me.  I thought everything was fine with my return but wasn’t.
