If my separated husband claims 1 of our 2 children - the one with the disability tax credit - will the child tax benefit for both still come to me?
My husband & I separated in Sept of 2017. Our children live with me 80% of the time. He made a lot more than I did last year - so needs the deductions more than I do. My only concern is that if he claims 1 or both of the children on his return - how will that affect my child tax benefit which I'm very reliant on at the moment? Will it be calculated based on his income & go to him?

Credits and deductions
Even if your ex-spouse claims the disability amount for one of your children, the child tax benefit will still come to you for both unless you specifically request that it doesn't.
