Unfortunately, if its grayed out you will need to either- start your return from scratch or- you can print to mail your return and once it is printed- you can update your SIN before you send it.

So I have to pay for and entirely new tax return again because I made a mistake. I bought the audit perfection plan is that seriously not transferable ? 

You will not have to pay for another return since you haven't filed one as of yet. As previously mentioned you can print and mail your return also.
