Can I claim airfare for me and my attendant for out of province surgery?

Can I also claim accommodations, meals along with the cost of surgery in private clinic - outside of my province?

As per the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), you may be able claim medical travel costs for you and your attendant if you meet all of the following conditions shown on this CRA link:

https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/tax-return/completing-a-tax-return/deductions-credits-expenses/lines-33099-33199-eligible-medical-expenses-you-claim-on-your-tax-return/details-medical-expenses.html#trvl80

You can generally claim fees paid to private clinics/hospitals if the services that you received were medically necessary. If you are unsure if your surgery qualifies, you can contact the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and confirm it with them.

If you are in Canada or the United States, you can call the CRA at 1-800-959-8281. If you are elsewhere, you can call 613-940-8495. This page has more ways to contact the CRA: Contact the Canada Revenue Agency
