Can I claim the medical expenses for my zero income adult child whom I am claiming as a dependant ?

Do the medical expenses have to be entered on the dependant's return first and then transferred to me,  or can I simply claim them solely on my return ?

You can claim medical expenses for an adult dependant provided you list them as a dependant in your return prior to entering the medical expenses. You do not need to enter the amounts on the dependant's return.
