Can I delete my online Turbo Tax profile? I prefer the download products.

Unfortunately you cannot delete or close your TurboTax account. However you can delete all returns from the account.

When you login to your account, click on the trash can icon next to a return to delete it.

If you only have one return, it won’t show the trash can. Click “Start a new return” to create a blank return. Now you should be able to delete your return, leaving only the empty return in the account.

I have not started to fill any returns. Do I have to complain to the government in order to cancel my online account? This is nonsense, I have every right to cancel an account. How do I go about this? I intend to use the download version and don't want 2 accounts hanging around.

Already tried that and the agent wasn't able to get any farther than I did.

1. Sign in to TurboTax, if you haven’t already
2. Select Intuit Account on the left
3. Now select Data & privacy
4. Select Delete and then follow the screens to delete your data

You now need to create an account for TurboTax CD/Download also.
