If I was self employed and worked on a commission basis, why do I need to fill out "Employment Expenses" & Self Employed Expenses with pretty much the same information?

Employment expenses are only claimed if you received a T4 from being employed. Self-Employed Expenses are claimed if you are self-employed or an independent contractor.
