Hello, I am an independent sales consultant for a company. I received commission income ($~1000.) but the company only sends T4A to team leaders. Where do I claim?

I started this business in November 2017, so limited income at this time. i want to claim the income but do I have to buy a self employed return just for minimal income?

The T4A triggers a business return. You will have to fill it in. You do not need to upgrade to the self-employed if you feel comfortable on your own.
