My employer is in Quebec. I live in Ontario. I have an RL1 (Quebec Taxes) form I need to add to my return.

In TurboTax Online, select My Info > [Your Name]’s Personal Tax Profile from the left side menu. Then click the Edit button next to Income & work related expenses. Answer yes to the question [Your Name], did you work in 2022? Then check off “T4- Employment Income” and “I worked in Québec and received a Relevé 1 slip”.

Hello, is there an update for 2024?

I have gone through the process, did not get an option to add RL-1. There is no "left side menu" it seems. Also no way to edit Income and work related expenses, unless I'm missing something? Thank you!

TurboTax Online no longer has a sidebar menu. Therefore, in order to edit any income, you will need to click on Tax Home on the left side panel, then click on Income, and then you will see the list of slips you entered. If you need to edit any income, click on the pencil beside the slip you wish to make changes to. If you can't see work-related expenses, go to the top search bar and type in employment expenses.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

Hello
I worked in the province of Quebec for the first half of 2024 and then moved to Manitoba.  I did check The box in my tax profile that says that I have a RL1 But it does not come up in the options of forms to fill out for my income.

I did try the “ add to your return”  box already and it is not there, Not available

Can someone help?  I would hate to use another service than TurboTax since I’ve been using it for many years now.  I need to be able to enter one T4 from Manitoba one T4 from Quebec and one Releve1 from Quebec

Canada turbotax manage  this?

thanks

Hi there. I was struggling with this too. You enter the RL-1 info on the T4 screen, there is a field at the bottom to enter the amount from Box E on the RL-1. Hope this helps!

Hi, I live in Ontario but have a Quebec T4 (no problem) and an RL-1. I do not see any spot at all on the T4 where I enter the information from the RL-1. What am I missing? Thanks.

In turbo tax t4, at the very bottom, there is a place to enter case E from your rvl1.  The tax amount you paid to Qc

Once you return, click on 2024 tax return on the left-hand side, then go to Tax Profile;  view the screenshots below :

Now your RL1 should be automatically filled out.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

It’s not under box 95 on the T4?

You choose the box in the profile, but it never gives you the option to input the form...?

I also selected QC and box E does not show up on my T4 form. Why is this so difficult every year, they should fix this.

@Mofo Here are the steps in TurboTax Online:

  • From 2024 tax return (in the left menu), click on Tax profile // Your tax profile.
  • If you are from Ontario and work in Quebec, in What tax slips do you have for the employment, unemployment, or retirement income you earned? - you have to select T4 AND Releve 1 (because you received one from your employer) // Continue
  • Go back in 2024 tax return (from left menu) // click Income // Select T4 - employment income
  • In T4 - Summary page, you click Edit on the side of your T4 (if you already have one entered) or Add T4 for (YOUR NAME) (if you don't have any).

At the bottom of the T4 slip, you will have, as my colleague explained previously, a box E for your Releve 1 from your employer.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

It is not initially apparent that this needs to be addressed when you start your return. As soon as you start entering information, ensure you enter your Province of work before ever getting to your T4 screen. Then when you open the T4, Box E will be at the bottom.  It took me a long time before I realized the info needs to be added before filling out the T4.

Hello,

my T4 has QC selected but there is no box for "E" of the RL-1. Why is that?

Thank you. I was sure that I had selected RL-1 in my "Tax Profile", but I went back and it was not checked. That allowed me to see the box E on the T4 with QC selected. thanks!
