I fulfilled all the requirements to claim moving expenses (40k closer etc). I think the problem is that I'm subcontracted, so my "company" name is my own and therefore based at my home address, not the contractor's address. Therefore I technically don't have income from the new job's address?
If you drove, you will claim the amount for travel expenses as the number of kms multiplied by the per km rate. The per km rate will depend on the province you started in when you moved, you can see the different rates at the following link:
