How do you enter a date of death for a taxpayer who died in 2017? The marital status page only allows for the date of death to be entered for a spouse.

The date of the death is a question in the Intro section. After answering that you're preparing the return for someone else and you enter their first name, the TurboTax screen expands and asks if the person has passed away. Answer 'yes' and then you'll be prompted to enter the date of death.
