I am not able to pay using the activation code provided on my Standard Online activation card, how do I proceed to file?

I bought my TurboTax Standard online edition at Costco. I don't have a CD but I do have an activation card. I've downloaded my 2019 tax return but when asked for my activation code it won't accept it. How do I get into my tax return for 2019?

Because you purchased the online edition and not the download, it will prompt you for an 11 digit activation code, whereas the download would have provided you with a 21 digit IKC code.

 

You do not need the download but simply sign into your TurboTax account (click top right corner sign into your 2019 return) and start from there, at the end when it's time to pay, you will apply the activation code provided with your purchased online edition.

 

Footnote: You will not be able to submit your tax return via Netfile until February 24, 2020, so simply fill out the details and come back then to finish filing your return.
