I am self employed but also get disability income. My return says non-taxable income (amount of my disability) and then further down it is a payment deduction

I am self employed but also get disability income. My return preview has the disability income listed under non-taxable income but then further down it is taxed under other payments deductions. Why is this?

The disability income is not taxable, however it is still included in income when calculating benefits such as child care benefits, GST/HST rebates, etc.  Thus all income is included in Net Income for this purpose, but then deducted from Taxable Income.
