I got a new SIN number but my T4 from my previous employer is the old one, can I still use the T4 slip without updating it?

Hello,

 

As per the title, I received a new SIN number and I already received my T4 but with the old number. Can I used that T4 and report the information from it or do I need to ask my previous employer to issue it again with the new one?

Yes, you can still include it on your tax return. The CRA will have both SIN numbers on file for you. You should keep the T4 slip just in case they do ask for it at a later date.
