I have a new computer and my previous files from turbotax were not properly saved on my computer. How do I access these files. The steps online are not helping.

I have a new computer and my previous files from turbotax were not properly saved on my computer. How do I access these files. The steps online are not helping.

If the files are still on your old computer, you can use the Windows search to look for “.tt17” to find your 2017 files (.tt16 for 2016, .tt15 for 2015, etc.). Then copy them onto a USB stick (or some other portable storage media). Put the USB stick in your new computer and copy the files to that machine’s hard drive. You can put them anywhere, though TurboTax itself puts them in C:\Users\yourpcname\Documents\TurboTax\2017.
