I’m under 25 and TurboTax gave me a perk that I don’t want to use but it won’t let me decline it and it’s trying to charge me $15 for filing my taxes even tho I did myself and don’t want the perk IM ******
Unless you are using a Basic TurboTax Online return you will be charged only $15 for being a student under 25 as seen in this TurboTax link PROMO FOR YOUNG ADULTS whether you are using the perk or not you will not be charged more than $15. Please see below the list of items included or not in the Basic return for $0. You may be charged $15 if any of the lower listed and not included items are found in your return.
There might be donations in box 46 of your T4 or Employee-paid premiums (medical) in box 85 of your T4 which would require an upgrade to allow you to claim additional credits not included in the free version. Please see the list below enumerating what is or is not included in the free version.
