I reported $2500 in "other income" on a T4A/RL1; it appears on my Quebec Summary twice as both "Other Income" and "Self employed income," both included in total income?

If this is self-employment income, go to your T2125 Business Summary and make sure you don’t have two business set up that are reporting the same amount. When you say YES to the question “Does the income declared in Box 028 consist of fees collected for services you provided?”, TurboTax automatically creates a T2125 for the amount. If you added the T4A after filling in a T2125, then a second one will be made, which will cause your income to double. You can get to the T2125 Business Summary by clicking Income, then Self-Employment, then Self-Employment Profile on the left side menu. Click Continue to see a list of your T2125 businesses. Click Delete next to the one you want to delete.

If this is not self-employment income, go back to your T4A and answer NO to the question “Does the income declared in Box 028 consist of fees collected for services you provided?”. You’ll also need to delete any T2125 that was created, as per the instructions above. After the business is deleted, go back to Income>Self-Employment>Self-Employment Profile and uncheck anything that is checked. Then you can click on the Save link at the bottom of the left side menu to save your changes.
