I wanted to use the on-line version. I seem to have downloaded the machine version. Can I switch?

The on-line version lets my children enter their own data.

Unfortunately, the TurboTax CD/Download is not the same as TurboTax Online. You would have to start your return from the beginning. Therefore you will need to purchase the TurboTax Online software separately depending on the version (Deluxe, Premier, Self-Employed) you use other than Free when you are ready to file. 

 

However, if you wish to return the TurboTax CD/Download, you can request a refund for your TurboTax product(s) within 60 days of the original purchase date. You can visit How do I get a refund for a TurboTax product? for more information and the form to complete for a refund request.
