I was on maternity leave in 2016. So I got T4 from work and EI benefit. After I entered my T4, I got refund for 1200. However when I entered EI payment for 26,200, income tax deducted 1150, my refund became balance due 5,688. Could you let me know why it

The reason you now have an amount owing could be because your taxable income increased and put you in a higher tax bracket without increasing the tax deducted on line 437 by very much.
