I was told at Staples that the version Standard I bought today would work with my Mac Computer

TurboTax CD/Download only works with PC. TurboTax Online is compatible with Macs, but you can't use TurboTax CD/Download codes with TurboTax Online. Here are the ways you can request a refund: https://turbotax.community.intuit.ca/replies/2647900
