My kids got T4A(P) in the mail. Do my minor children need taxes filed?

I'm separated from my ex husband and have been for all of 2015. He is on CPP disability. Each of my two minor, dependent, children received a T4A for their portion of his monthly disability. Do they need to file their own taxes or is it claimed on my tax form?

Assuming they have no other income to speak of, they should each file.
The amount is taxable but they should not have to pay.

Hi there,

Thank you for you question. Although your children are minors, they are still eligible to file provided they have SINs. If they do not have SINs you can claim their income in the "net income" box on each dependant page.
