Are you getting an error message?
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
Same is happening to us. It states it will open mid- February and won’t allow you to Netfile. Help!!
@poojawadnap Please verify that none of the forms you are using are locked: TurboTax FAQ: Why does TurboTax say my forms are locked or haven't been finalized?
If you are using any of those forms that could be the reason that you are unable to File.
Ut says early March but, do you have an ETA, it makes no sense, my refund is just sitting there and nobody in TT or CRA has an answer
As per the CRA: The CRA is working diligently to update its systems to reflect the currently enacted capital gains inclusion rate of one-half. However, this update may not be completed when online filing becomes available on February 24, 2025. If you are impacted by this situation, you may avoid processing delays by waiting until the updates are completed in the coming weeks before filing your income tax and benefit return. The CRA will grant relief in respect of late-filing penalties and interest until June 2, 2025, for Individual filers and until May 1, 2025, for Trust filers, to provide additional time for taxpayers reporting capital gains to meet their tax filing obligations.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
Hi,
I am having the same problem as this individual. I checked the list of forms that were not ready per your last message and I am not using any of those forms. Why is netfile not working?
I had to switch from your online product (which I still have not been refunded for) to your desktop download and I am still experiencing issues. NEVER in my 10 years of using Turbotax have I ever experienced so many issues before.
Same here..been using turbotax for 18 years, might be my last year. Revenue Qc is stating it is a problem with turbotax software
I have had this problem for awhile. A lot of people reported this issue that it shouldn't have applied to. That was the same with me. If you reported the Sale of your principle residence Turbo Tax includes the Capitol Gaines form with zero Capitol Gaines. It was still including it this year. I deleted it because it was unneeded and Netfile then worked perfectly. Hope this helps some people.

Glad it worked for you...It will not let me delete the form even thou it does not apply to me. March 7th and everyday they say it will be fixed tomorrow, I can now file some Ontario taxes but no Quebec. 18 years with little problems..this year Turbotax is a joke, blaming everyone but their own software.
Ok how do you DELETE a form? I'm tired of waiting to get my money back and I fear this whole BS situation is a problem on TT and NOT the CRA. But when I called support, they gave me the same dog & Pony show, blaming CRA being late for releasing forms. that has to be BS, because otherwise how are others able to file their taxes? Plus, what does that say for those doing it on paper? "Oh sorry, but you have to refile your taxes or start filling addendum forms". Horse-apples!
If you can advise people how to delete this form it would be appreciated.
Thank you
Its March7 and still not fixed. We can we Netfile a return that has a capital gains form(??)
andrea
I am trying to Netfile BUT will not let me because form for Capital Gains has still not been modified.....
The error message was saying it would be available for end of Feb....The Cdn govt changed cap gains tax to 75% of earnings last June 2024....but as of Jan 1, 2025....have moved the change to Jan 2026....
so want to know when this will get fixed and we can file
Ok First I have to say that I'm talking about people who haven't had any Capitol Gaines or Loses. From my experience this year (2024 Tax Year) Turbo Tax included a blank form T657. The only reason I could come up with was my Reporting the Sale of a Principle Residence last year (2023 Tax Year). In this situation deleting T657 solved my issue. If this situation doesn't apply to you you probably shouldn't delete T657.
From a Turbo Tax Moderator in another thread:
In Forms mode, go to the T657, select Edit>Forms>Clear Current Form, and then Edit>Forms>Close Unused Forms.
yes i thought of that....but i have lots of Capital gains and want to avoid issues with Rev Can next year so they dont come back to me with Penalties and interest
thanks andrea
I have no capital gains or losses. So I suspect the form is not being used by me in the TT, so why then is it blocking me? There has to be more forms giving the same issue.
so finally there is something on the CRA website....they are now saying will be able to file end of March
END OF MARCH???? ARGH! OK imagine me throwing a fit here (jumping, screaming, temper tantrum, extreme profanity, and maybe even pins sticking in a voodoo doll called CRA)
LOL
I totally agree; it is a joke. I was obliged to buy UFile to submit my forms.
Crayzalo111, if you know you are not reporting any capital gains, see if you can go to forms mode to look at schedule 3. If there is a box checked, uncheck the box. It may be a trick question in warnings that triggers the schedule 3 whether you answer yes or no.
I'm not reporting any gain.
Please solve your problems and be transparent with the users. The program is generating errors anyway. I entered the same data in UFile and it went through.
Delphision:
I tried and it doesn't work. My schedule 3 has nothing checked. Intuit needs to get their **** together and fix this program. Otherwise refund me and I will go elsewhere. This bs is getting on my nerves. This is the last time I buy this program. I get the same bs with Quicken.
