If these benefit contributions were to a private health insurance company (ex: Great West Life, Sun Life, Blue Cross, etc…), then you can claim them as a medical expense. However, you can only claim medical expenses for a 12 month period in a given year, so you would need to adjust your returns for the previous years.
If these benefit contributions were to a provincial health care (government insurance) program, then they can’t be claimed at all.
