According to the CRA, Uber drives, Uber Eats, and other ride-sharing drivers are required to file their Canadian income taxes as self-employed. This means that the taxpayer will need to complete Income Tax and Benefits Return and Form T2125 (statement of Business of professional activities), please visit Small Business Tax Tips: Filing a T2125 .
Uber driver income is recognized by the CRA under the category Ride-Sharing income, and you will be required to report this as “Other Types of business”. Please visit Ride-Sharing income taxes to how to report your Uber business income and what expenses you will be able to claim in your tax return.
