Hi, We withdrew $5000 from my son's RESP and did not receive a T4A, which I believe we should have? Not sure where we should enter this on his taxes, he enrolled in post-secondary just this past August (2018) therefore for 5 months in 2018 as per his T2202A.
Thank you in advance
Your son should indeed have a slip for this withdrawal. If your son did not receive a T4A for his RESP withdrawal, you should be able to access the slip from CRA. If he has a CRA My Account set up, he can view the slip in his online account, or import it directly to the tax return using AutoFill.
Hi there,
I am a student and I think I withdrew from an RESP in 2022, but I didn't receive a slip and I don't see any slip from the savings plan in my CRA account. What does that mean?
@taxingtables9396 You should double check that you actually withdrew from a RESP, and if you did, contact the institution that holds the account to get a slip.
