Says I have to upgrade? But I shouldn't have to

When I fill in my details, TurboTax says I have to upgrade because

You told us you have one or more of the following:
Income or deductions not reported on a slip.
RRSP contributions.

But I don't!

Help??

Says I have to upgrade? But I shouldn't have to

Hi,

can you try this out?

- login to your account and then click the Profile tab->Personal Tax Profile

- Next to RRSPs, click the blue "Edit" button

- Now on the page that loads, there should be a question that asks:
"did you make contributions to a retirement plan such as an RRSP...?"
Click "Yes" to open the subsection and ensure everything is unchecked.
   Then click "No".

- Make sure the other questions do not have anything checked.

- Click Continue to save your changes.

- Notice that on the Profile Tax Summary page (Profile tab->Personal Tax Profile), the RRSPs section should say "None."

Please let me know if this helps.

Actually, I ignored the message and it allowed me to continue somehow and I have a confirmation that it was filed. Not sure how that happened.

Thanks JeffL@Intuit! It was infact a box somewhere checked, although the main box for the section was NO.
All good now. Thank you!

This worked for me, too.  Still, shouldn't have to do this.  Y'all should fix this.  Also, it kinda sucks to make people pay just because they made charitable donations.  It's like a punishment for being generous...

Says I have to upgrade? But I shouldn't have to

This isn't helpful in my case. Nothing is checked off and it is still telling me to upgrade for $17. Any other suggestions?

Hi, did you make sure that in other sections under "Profile->Personal Tax Profile" such as "2014 Income" only have situations that apply to you?
Also keep in mind that if your combined household income is over $20,000, you'll be asked to pay for Standard.

Says I have to upgrade? But I shouldn't have to

Everything seemed to be checked off properly. I didn't get to a point where I was able to type in my T4 information. I called customer service and they couldn't figure it out either (very nice people that stayed on the line with me). I have used turbotax for years and thought it was great, recommended it to a few people, but this year I ended up using a different tax software program recommended by the CRA website.
Thank you for getting getting back to me, I do appreciate it.

No problem, I hope you get it sorted out soon.  It's hard for me to figure out what's going on through this forum, so support would have been my next recommendation.
Please do let me know if you find out the cause.
The other thing you can try is just creating a new return by clicking, at the top right, Tools->Return Manager and then "Create a New Return" in the window that pops up.
You can then select Free as your flavour (sorry, I'm assuming that's the flavour you're intending to use).
