This is the first time I've worked for an employer with a pension plan. Do i need to enter line 20 from my T4 into the PRPP section separately?

Yes, you will enter all boxes from your T4 information slip into your return. This will let the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) which income is taxable or not as is the case of box 20 being the employer's contribution and not yours.
