Using Turbo TAx Commerically

Hi

I am an experienced tax preparer and am thinking of doing it freelance, and am looking for software.  Is TurboTax appropriate to prepare returns on a small commercial basis of up to 100 returns to start, and hopefully more in the future?  Is this allowed by TurboTax, and would it be feasible?

I thank you in advance.

Paul

TurboTax is meant for individual taxpayers and their family & friends. It uses NETFILE to transmit returns, which is limited by the CRA to 20 returns per computer. Any other returns would have to be filed by mail.

Intuit has other products that are meant for tax professionals.

  • Pro Tax is online tax software that allows you to prepare returns right in the QuickBooks Online Accountant ecosystem.
  • Profile is a standalone tax preparation program for Windows.

Both require you to be registered for the CRA's EFILE service to be able to send returns electronically.
