What version of should I use: Self employed or Premier?

I am doing the taxes for my family, and I am not sure what version of the software I need. Here is a snapshot of what we what:

  • T4's
  • Investment Income (T3 & T5)
  • Crypto Investment - Captial Gain
  • RRSP
  • Chartable Donations
  • I also do computer tech support and make about $2K per year after expenses

I am not sure if because I have a "side gig" that I need to get the self employed version of the software or just the premier for the both of us.

If you only have income to report from your side gig, then you can use Premier. But if you have expenses that you want to deduct, you will need to use TurboTax Self-Employed Online.

Please be aware that if you are preparing your return together with your spouse/common-law partner, then you’ll both be using the same version of the software at the same price.
