I download (from your site) the 2017 Premier edition. After this was done, all the 2016 year history was lost. Can this be recovered?

When you use the CD/download edition of TurboTax, your tax files are saved to your machine. Downloading and installing TurboTax has no impact on the tax files that you create and (typically) save to your My Documents file.

If you want to look at your 2016 tax files, you need to open them in TurboTax 2016.
