Yes, the Home-Support Services for Seniors tax credit is located on Schedule J (aka Annex J). However, if you are using TurboTax Online, you can edit the forms directly. Instead, you can get to the right interview page by using the “Find” tool (magnifying glass) to search for “quebec”. Select “Quebec Credit Profile” and then click the “Go” button. Then, check off “Tax credit for home-support services for seniors”, and click Continue until you get to the that page.
Please note that there is an error in Turbo Tax 2019 at line 50 of Quebec Annex J. If you enter a number at that line, and you live in your own home, not an old people home, condo or rental, you tax return will be refused at final check. If you use line 56 instead for you snow removal etc... everything work ok.
There is still a problem with Schedule J in the 2020 version. When the information from Quebec form TPZ 1029.MD.5 is entered into the program the amount admissible charges as a proportion of condo fees is appropriately translated to line 2 of Quebec Schedule J. However this then precludes E-filing of the Quebec return. After two hours with the support desk it turned out that the only way to fix this is to delete the amount from line 2 of schedule J. However this results in a loss of the tax deduction. This is clearly a programming error. An attempt to bring this to the attention of Turbotax by responding to the followup e-mail from [email address removed] resulted in a bounced back e-mail.
The second tech with whom I discussed this undertook to send an e-mail that would allow me to pass this error on to the programmers. The e-mail has not appeared.
This level of support and concern for defective programming is disgraceful.
