The big question is are you more a user of Desktop or Online software?
If you prefer TurboTax Online, you can have access to the description of each edition on this page. For your situation, we think Premier should be the proper one for you (see screenshot).
If you prefer TurboTax Desktop, you also have the Premier Edition on this web page.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
TurboTax Desktop-Basic is for a regular basic return with T4's and for those who were on social assistance.
Standard:
Premier: Covers stocks, bonds, ESPs, and mutual funds
Home & Business: Covers self-employed income and taxes
If you have other things which aren't listed that you need to claim, please let us know, and we will direct you on which TurboTax Desktop product will best suit your needs.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
In addition to T4's, does basic support interest income on T5's?
Which desktop edition is required for T3's (once the CRA themselves figure it out?)
Thx.
TurboTax Desktop Basic supports T4, T5 & T3 slips.
For TurboTax Online, you would need to use TurboTax Premier for T3 slip income.
I am married retired with company pension and receive old age and cpp pensions as does my wife.
We wish to split income
I have basic income, but also hobby farm income/losses (not a registered business) and rental income. Which version should I use?
@Suzanne100 You can use TurboTax Online's self-employed version or TurboTax Desktop Home & Business to prepare and file your taxes.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
As I've done more googling, I need to prepare a T3 Trust return. Which Turbotax (Desktop) has my back?
Thx.
@Sloopy18 Unfortunately, we don't support T3 returns.
