Why charge for tax

I saw you had advertised free tax for basic return why was i charged

You must have prepared your return in one of our editions that isn't free. If you haven't filed yet, you can start over in our TurboTax Free edition and we'll refund you for the cost of the return you paid for.

TurboTax Free and TurboTax Standard handle things a little differently and it might not be to your taste so I'd suggest giving TurboTax Free a try before calling us for a refund for TurboTax Standard.
