Can I transfer unused personal tax credits to my spouse and what forms do I use

When you prepare your tax returns together or simultaneously in TurboTax, any credits or transfers will be done automatically for you. You only need to enter both you and your spouse's information and let the software do the calculations for you.

We recommend you do prepare your returns together in order for you both to receive all the credits and benefits you are entitled to. More information can be found in this FAQ from TurboTax: As a married taxpayer, is it better to file my tax return together with my spouse, or separately?

No that isn't true that turbotax does it automaticaly for you. I am told by one of the turbotax assistant representatives that the online turbotax package is not set up to transfer unused federal tax credits to your spouse. They don't have a T12020 schedule 2 form included in their system to allow you to do it.
