How can we transfer refund to the tax owing on my spouse ?

if one spouse owes and one has a refund. Can refund lower the amount of owing for the other spouse ?

Thank you for your question. The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) doesn’t let one spouse’s refund offset a balance owing for the other spouse. Please look at this article to see more information.

Can you tell me when this came into effect ? - Last year I was able to take my owed taxes and reduc ethem with my wife's refund - Thanks

Unfortunately, we cannot find any time this was allowable by the Canada Revenue Agency.
