If I used turbotax for Mac for my 2017 returns, can i transfer my 2017 info into turbotax for windows for 2018. I'm using a PC now.

I used Turbo tax Standard for Mac for my 2017 returns and now I have a PC so I need to use Turbotax for Windows. Can I transfer my 2017 tax info into 2018 Turbotax if I download the 2018 Turbotax for Windows

Thanks!

Unfortunately, transfer of last year's data is only available from the download version to the online version, not vice versa. However, you can transfer your details from last year into TurboTax Online on your PC. No need to use the download version. You can sign into TurboTax Online from a web browser of your choice.

I have been using TT for Windows(7) under my MacBook Pro (mid-2012-OS10.10.5-Yosemite). Is it possible for me to use TT for Mac for 2019 and be able to transfer 2018 data to the downloaded version of TT for Mac?

Thanks, in advance, for any assistance/advice that can be provided.

Bruce Morris, long-time TT user.

With apologies, I need to clarify that in my previous post Windows 7 operates in a separate domain under BOOT CAMP on my MacBook Pro laptop.

Appreciatively,

If you used TurboTax CD/Download last year, you’ll be able to transfer your info from last year into either TurboTax CD/Download or a paid version of TurboTax Online. Please note however, that transferring from TurboTax CD/Download into TurboTax Online is currently disabled while we resolve some issues with the process. We hope to have this feature available again as soon as possible, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

If you used TurboTax Online last year, you can only transfer your info from last year into a paid version of TurboTax Online.

By the way, this FAQ has important information regarding TurboTax and Windows 7 support: https://turbotax.community.intuit.ca/community/product-information/help/how-will-the-end-of-support-...

Please confirm whether (or not), TT 2019 download will work under Windows 7.

I understand that there is no version to operate under Mac OS.
I have been using TT for Windows (7),  downloaded version, for many years. for some unknown reason, I did not receive the usual email with access to the TT2019 downloaded version. After consulting with TT Support via telephone, their attempts to re-send the applicable email have not succeeded!
Any ideas on why that may be happening, and what can I do to achieve success to access the downloaded version for my paid-up subscription?
If I have to succumb to use the TT2019 on-line version (because I cannot use the TT2019 download version under my Windows 7 - under BOOT CAMP on my MacBook Pro Mid-2012-Yosemite), I understand that I will not be able to access the data from my TT2018 tax return. Is this correct?
Appreciatively,

Yes, TurboTax CD/Download for 2019 should work on Windows 7. But as the link I posted above mentions, we don’t recommend using Windows 7, as Microsoft is no longer updating that version of Windows. This means that Windows 7 isn’t receiving any new security updates from Microsoft, and therefore is open to malware and other breaches that could cause your data to be viewed by criminals.

If you just need to download the program, you can do so from one of the links on this FAQ: https://turbotax.community.intuit.ca/community/product-information/help/where-can-i-download-the-cd-...

If you can’t get the email with the Installation Key Code, I can’t take your private information to resend you the code here, as this is a public forum. If you are on social media, they can send you the code through a private/direct message:

We are on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/messages/t/TurboTaxCanada

We are on Twitter at: https://twitter.com/messages/19496097-385034351

If you decide to use TurboTax Online 2019, then the option to import info from TurboTax CD/Download returns has been disabled while we fix some issues.

If you need a refund for your TurboTax CD/Download order, you can use the form on this page to request one: https://turbotax.community.intuit.ca/community/after-you-file-questions/help/how-do-i-get-a-refund-f...
